What to Expect with Laser Hair Reduction
Most people that receive laser hair reduction services have no side effects and say that it is a very comfortable experience. However, a small percentage of people experience one of the following:
What to Expect During Or After Laser Hair Reduction
Discomfort
It is possible that you will feel slight warmth or a sensation like an elastic band being snapped against your skin during the procedure. If you feel anything that causes you discomfort, notify the laser technician immediately.
Redness, Swelling, or Bruising
Short term redness or swelling of the treated area can occur after the laser reduction. These issues usually resolve within 24 hours of the procedure. Bruising can very rarely occur and resolves within a few days. Please call Hair Erase Studio, or your personal physician if you have any personal concerns.
Burn or Blister
A potential complication of laser hair reduction is that you can develop a burn on the skin, or blistering of the skin. These complications are rare and prevented by communicating with your laser technician during your laser hair reduction session. Please speak up if you feel any discomfort or pain during the procedure.
Infection
Infection is always a possibility if the skin surface has been disrupted. If signs of infection such as fever, pain, heat or redness develop, please call Hair Erase Studio at 904-599-8443 for instructions or seek help from your personal physician.
Scarring
Scarring of the skin can occur if the skin surface is disrupted. To avoid this rare complication, please follow all post treatment instructions.
Pigment Changes
Pigment changes (skin color) during the healing process. It is possible that you can experience areas where your skin can become lighter or darker compared to the surrounding skin. This is usually temporary, but on rare occassions can be permanent.
